EPISODE 92
Following a successful run as a tech entrepreneur and executive, Rajeev Singh heard numerous warnings about joining a healthcare start-up.
But Singh, like many, saw the opportunity to affect true change in healthcare too tempting to ignore. Two years ago, he assumed the CEO role at Accolade, a company using all levels of tech to help self-insured employers understand their healthcare needs.
In this interview with the Breaking Health Podcast, Singh explains how through a simple phone call Accolade can secure the insights it needs to predict how much healthcare an employee might need in the coming year and beyond.
He introduces the Maya Intelligence Engine, which utilizes AI and Machine Learning to assemble data collected in phone calls and other connections between users and its “healthcare assistants” to map out a support plan for individual users.
The company also helps patients navigate the complicated healthcare landscape. “What we want to do is remove the guessing game for the consumer,” Singh tells host Steve Krupa, CEO of Healthedge, a software company focused on providing next-generation, business-transforming technology products to the healthcare payor market.
